Frequently Asked Questions
Yes!!!! But how it works explains it better. When the manufacturer forms a panel they put contours in the panel to hold it to shape. When a dent occurs, from a hail stone-door-or what ever, the contour becomes distorted. We get to the back of the panel and slowly return the contour back to it’s original shape. Sometimes this takes as little 3-4 pushes or as many as 100.• BUT YOU CAN’T DO A CREASE, CAN YOU?
In all but the rarest of circumstances, we can. If there is no damaged paint the crease is more than repairable.• HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE?
Most door dents can be repaired in a matter of minutes. Minor dents may take as long as 4-5 hours. The majority of hail damage repairs are completed in about a day. This mostly depends upon severity of the damage.• HOW DO YOU GET TO THE DENTS?
Side damage access can be achieved many different ways. Through the window opening, factory holes in the door frame and sometimes the door panel is removed. Roof panels have the headliner dropped down ( modern headliners are all one piece units, no fear of it sagging). The hoods and trunk lids also have their liners removed. Fender dents can be accessed through the door opening, or by removal of the headlamp assembly and on occasion the inner fender must be pulled out.• HOW BIG OF A DENT CAN YOU FIX?
It’s not the over all diameter of the dent that determines whether or not a dent is repairable. Rather the sharpness, depth, location and type of car the dent is on. Sometimes a dent the size of a volley ball is easily repaired while a dent the size of a golf ball is not.• DO YOU USE DRY ICE?
No. Using dry ice damages the paint on your vehicle and will have no affect on the dented sheet metal.• DO YOU USE HEAT?
Heating or torching the sheet metal can remove the smallest of dents. However, the metal must achieve a temperature that will burn the paint or blister it. Sometimes heat is used if the panel is too cold. When paint is cold it is vulnerable to cracking.• WILL MY DENTS COME BACK?
Sheet metal is rigid and holds it shape extremely well. When a panel is dented it holds that shape. Once repaired it retains its original strength. Your dent will not come back.• WILL THE SUN TAKE MY DENTS OUT?
No. The temperature necessary to remove very small dents will burn or blister the paint.• CAN YOU REPAIR OLDER CARS?
Classic cars, 40’s, 50’s, 60’s, or newer, are repairable depending on the quality of the paint. Original finish, in excellent condition, or a quality restoration are the best candidates.
Our paintless dent repair services helps to restore the vehicle’s body back to its original state without compromising the paint. A vehicle’s sheet metal is resilient and is very strong. Once the dent is removed, it’s gone for good.
